Orange Chai Spice Date Brownies



These Orange Chai Spice Date Brownies are a delightful twist on traditional brownies. The combination of sweet dates, aromatic chai spices, and zesty orange create a unique and flavorful treat that is perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup dates, pitted and chopped
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans optional

Instructions:

Set the oven to 350F 175C and heat it up

A 9x9-inch baking pan should be greased

Pour the hot water over the chopped dates in a small bowl

Soak for five minutes

Put the dates that have been soaked with the water in a large bowl

Add the applesauce, orange juice, and vanilla extract

Combine well

Sift the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, ginger, nutmeg, and salt together in a different bowl

Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ones while stirring them together

If you want to, fold in the chopped nuts

Spread out the batter in the baking pan that has been prepared

In a hot oven, bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean

Let the brownies cool for 10 minutes in the pan before moving them to a wire rack to cool all the way

Cut it into squares and serve after it has cooled
